NSS

National Service Scheme

NSS stands for National Service Scheme. It is a Central Sector Scheme of the Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. Through NSS, we encourage our students to volunteer for community service thereby contributing to national development. NSS provides hands on experience to young students in executing community service. An NSS volunteer would have the exposure to be a proficient social leader, a competent administrator and a compassionate individual. Through NSS activities, we create awareness regarding the rich cultural diversity of India. The unassailable NSS platform of our college organises the following programmes in order to keep the students updated:

# Special Camp with the NSS unit

# Blood Donation Camp

# Thalassemia Awareness

About
RRC
About

Red Ribbon Club

RRC represents Red Ribbon Club. It stands as a symbol of hope and trust for the HIV/AIDS infected people. Through this special platform, our students build their capabilities as peer educators in enabling a healthy community. Through RRC, we create opportunities for gender sensitization programmes. Students serve as the pioneer for fighting AIDS and thereby their leadership skills are harnessed to a great extent. On the World Aids Day, a human chain involving all the students of the college is formed to demonstrate solidarity and peace. Students participate in rallies and processions at the district and zone level to promote HIV/AIDS awareness.

The ICMC management is always supportive to the noble cause of the NSS/YRC/RRC and due to its frontline leadership we have successfully accomplished many events for the betterment of the society.

YRC

Youth Red Cross

YRC or the Youth Red Cross is considered to be the distinguished and dynamic youth wing of any educational institute. As the abbreviation states, it is rightly armed with the enthusiasm and zeal of the youths. Franklin D. Roosevelt has said, “We cannot always build the future for the youth, but we can build our youth for the future.” The wide-ranging activities of the Red Cross are featured as a part of the YRC in our college. The academic calendar of our college is replete with these extension and outreach pursuits. Visits to PHCs, hospitals, blood banks and aiding disaster management endeavours are some of the significant aspects of our YRC unit. At our college, we wholeheartedly attempt to realize the seven principles of YRC namely –

# Humanity

# Impartiality

# Neutrality

# Independence

# Voluntary service

# Unity

# Universality

As young people make up a substantial segment of the YRC, our college undertakes painstaking efforts to incorporate the youths in each and every activity to ensure that their energies and latent possibilities are channelized in the right direction. The YRC wing of our college mandates and optimizes student participation right from the administration as well as execution level of the YRC events.
